Dr. Marcella Kaplan
FOUNDER AND HEAD RESEARCHER
Dr. Marcella Kaplan is a Research Assistant Professor at the Center for Transportation Research, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Kaplan earned her BS, MS, and doctoral degrees in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. Her work addresses critical issues in transportation safety and mobility with particular emphasis on multimodal transportation technologies, last-mile logistics, and integration of technology-enabled mobility options to provide safe and sustainable transportation. Kaplan focuses on transportation research that investigates how transportation resources are distributed and utilized across different communities by developing system-level models and simulations, and developing new, science-based approaches with practical applications.
